A lodge the owners actually live with.
Lorenzo Motor Lodge was built in the early '90s on the strength of a simple bet: that if you placed a proper motor lodge directly opposite Hagley Park, and then actually ran it well, guests would find it.
Three decades later, that bet still looks fine. Lorenzo is still owner-operated. The people who answer the phone are the people who open the front door when you arrive. There's no front-office shift handover, no franchise manual, no guest-experience committee somewhere in another city.
What that means in practice: someone here remembers your name if you've been before. The linen gets replaced when it should, not when the head-office schedule says. The plumbing gets fixed the same week it breaks. And the coffee in the room is the coffee we'd actually drink ourselves.
